Saddleback 96, University 87--Chris Bradshaw scored 20 points, including four three-pointers in the first half, for Saddleback (9-11, 3-2). Luis Venegas had 33 points, including five three-pointers, for host University (7-12, 0-5).

Corona del Mar 78, Newport Harbor 54--Jon Upham had 30 points and Dave Olsen added a season-high 16 for the host Sea Kings (10-11, 3-2).

In the Century League:

Orange 62, Santa Ana Valley 51--Orange (9-8, 2-3) outscored Santa Ana Valley, 29-14, in the fourth quarter. Jamiel Worthem scored 21 points and grabbed 11 rebounds for the Panthers.

In the Empire League:

Loara 85, El Dorado 81--Tes Whitlock had 27 points and Charlie Gipson added 17 points and 20 rebounds for host Loara (10-11, 3-3). Bret Tomko had 22 points and Brian Loyd 21 for El Dorado (6-13, 0-6).

Katella 68, Cypress 61--Kevin Carlson, who entered the game averaging 21.9 points, scored five points in the first half before an illness forced him out. Picking up the slack, Roger Arias had 21 points for Katella (13-6, 4-2). Courtney Smalley had 27 points for Cypress (8-12, 2-4 ).

Los Alamitos 71, Esperanza 67--Los Alamitos held a 53-37 lead after three quarters, but Esperanza closed the gap to 69-65 with 1:23 left. Los Alamitos (15-6, 6-0) held on as Steve Carbone scored 17 points and Bryan Hakala scored 15 and added 10 assists. Joe Foss had 19 points for Esperanza (14-8, 3-3).

In the Orange League:

Western 78, Brea-Olinda 42--Tom Barraza scored 24 points, Chris Jackson had 15 and Nurishi Stevenson added 12 points and 13 rebounds for host Western (17-1, 5-0), which took a 28-9 first-quarter lead. Daimon Elmendorf scored 12 for Western.

Anaheim 65, Magnolia 63--Ryan Rude made two free throws with two seconds remaining to give host Anaheim (10-8, 3-2) the victory. Rude rebounded a shot that Frank Madrid had taken with about five seconds left and was fouled by Doug Isaacks. Rudy Fernandez had 18 points, Madrid 17 and Greg Cole 15 for Anaheim. Wayne Thomas had 16 points for Magnolia (0-5 in league).

Savanna 55, Valencia 52--Jeremy Lyche had 19 points and 15 rebounds and Andy Trumpour had 15 points and 10 rebounds for Savanna (12-8, 3-2). Savanna led, 51-40, after three quarters.

In the Pacific Coast League:

Laguna Hills 96, Laguna Beach 78--Justin Ross had 31 points and nine rebounds and Paul La Mott added 28 point and nine rebounds for host Laguna Hills (9-8, 3-2). Gil Kim had eight assists for Laguna Hills. Josh Borella scored 31 points for Laguna Beach.

Trabuco Hills 72, Century 54--Sophomore forward Patrick Barnes scored 11 of his game-high 25 points in the third quarter for Trabuco Hills (4-14, 3-2). Ron Christ added 12 points for the Mustangs.

In the South Coast League:

Dana Hills 60, El Toro 56--Dana Hills (11-9, 3-3) never trailed and survived a scare when El Toro pulled to within 57-56 with less than a minute to play. Derrick Walsh scored eight of his 16 points in the fourth quarter for Dana Hills.

Irvine 58, Mission Viejo 51--John Molle scored two field goals in the first quarter and then made 20 of 20 from the free-throw line for a game-high 25 points for Irvine (19-2, 6-0). Matt Brummel had 20 points for Mission Viejo (5-16, 0-6).

Capistrano Valley 73, San Clemente 54--Senior forward Jose Salvatierra had 28 points for host Capistrano Valley (18-4, 5-1).
