In another South Coast League game:

Capistrano Valley 48, Dana Hills 40--Angie White scored 18 points and Anne Montero scored 15 points for host Capistrano Valley (14-5, 5-2).

In the Empire League:

Loara 69, Los Alamitos 36--Kristin Thibodeau scored 11 points and grabbed seven rebounds and Tracy Titus scored 32 points and had 18 rebounds, seven blocked shots and five steals for visiting Loara (11-10, 4-3). Cindy Yamasaki scored 21 points and four three-pointers for Los Alamitos.

Esperanza 77, Katella 50--Wendy Fullmer scored 20 points and had 10 rebounds to lead visiting Esperanza (13-5, 5-1). Teammate Lisa Ruppe added 13 points and eight rebounds. Freshman Chris Carrillo had 22 points, including four three-pointers, for Katella (6-13, 2-4).

In the Century League:

Santa Ana Valley 50, Orange 27--Samatua Ruth scored 15 points and had 10 rebounds for host Santa Ana Valley (6-12, 2-4). Ginnie Hall scored nine points to lead Orange (2-15, 1-5).

El Modena 53, Foothill 50 (OT)--Michelle Duckworth scored 15 points and grabbed 10 rebounds and Melizza Benitez scored 13 points, including two in overtime, for El Modena. Kathy Farina added 10 for visiting El Modena. Kara Kooi of host Foothill (3-14, 3-3) scored 19 points to lead all scorers, including a short jumper with two seconds left to tie the score, 48-48, and send the game into overtime. El Modena (11-4, 5-1), however, limited the Knights to two free throws by Tiffany Dawson in the extra period.

In the Olympic League:

Orange Lutheran 49, Ayala 32--Michelle Hines and Amanda Stewart had nine points each to pace Orange Lutheran (7-7, 5-3) at Ayala (0-8, 2-13).

Whitney 47, Capistrano Valley Christian 44--Elainie Kollias scored 18 for Capistrano Valley Christian (13-4, 5-3). Kristen Ebright scored 38 points for Whitney (9-6, 6-2), which moved into the league lead.

In the Orange League:

Brea-Olinda 65, Savanna 42--Jinnelle Williams scored 21 points for visiting Brea-Olinda (19-1, 6-0), the top-ranked team in Orange County and CIF Division II. Jody Anton added 14 points for Brea-Olinda.

Valencia 50, Magnolia 35--Sommer McLane scored 14 points and Nikki Kubota scored 10 for visiting Valencia (14-6, 5-1). Dianna Cervantes scored 14 for Magnolia.

Western 54, Anaheim 19--Christine Collins scored 15 points and Sara Wabhwani scored 11 points for host Western (7-12, 2-4).

In the Pacific Coast League:

Estancia 68, Laguna Beach 23--Melody Earle scored 19 points and had eight assists to lead host Estancia (19-1, 6-0), the county’s second-ranked team. Patrice Lumpkin added 13 points and had 18 rebounds for Estancia and teammate Becky Meabon was four for four from the field en route to nine points. Laurel Rush scored 14 for Laguna Beach (3-12, 1-5).

Costa Mesa 60, Trabuco Hills 48--Olivia DiCamilli scored 27 points and Rachel Ward scored 18 for Costa Mesa (14-7, 5-1). Shelly Calhoun scored 22 points for host Trabuco Hills (10-12, 3-3).

Laguna Hills 40, Century 25--Tonya Stevens had 14 points and Andrea Nelson added 10 for visiting Laguna Hills, now 3-3 in league play. Lucy Guerrero led Century (4-12, 0-6) with seven points.

In the Sea View League:

Tustin 59, University 38--Host Tustin, ranked No. 3 in the county, trailed, 26-25, at halftime and led only 34-32 at the end of three periods before outscoring University, 25-6, in the final quarter. Shari Needham finished with 21 points and 11 rebounds for Tustin (19-3, 6-0) and senior Wanda Sequeira added 17 points. Sequeira also had six assists to give her 504 in her three-year career. Tara Wolff led University (9-10, 2-4) with eight points.

Woodbridge 60, Newport Harbor 52--Nicole Schwartz scored 19 points and Deanna Harry had 14 for host Woodbridge (15-4, 4-1). Michaela Ross had 12 to lead Newport Harbor.

In the Sunset League:

Marina 79, Westminster 23--Colleen Hatch scored 18 points and grabbed eight rebounds and Gillian Bean scored 14 points for visiting Marina (17-4, 8-0).

Fountain Valley 55, Edison 51--Shilpa Shah converted a key free throw with 27 seconds left for host Fountain Valley (13-7, 5-2) to keep the Barons four points ahead. Shanna Wilson scored 18 points and grabbed nine rebounds and Michelle Kravik scored 10 points and grabbed 11 rebounds for host Fountain Valley. Erika Miller scored 25 points for Edison.

Ocean View 47, Santa Ana 26--Junior center Nikki Vivion scored 15 points and grabbed 14 rebounds to lead host Ocean View (13-8, 4-3). Ocean View led, 23-19, at halftime but outscored Santa Ana, 15-3, in the third period. Susan Menley led Santa Ana (6-12, 1-7) with eight points.
