Games Provide Diversion During Trying Times

I have never written a letter to a newspaper before, but this time I felt it was necessary. I have always enjoyed Mike Downey’s column, but never as much as the one on Jan. 17 (“Now These Games Feel Like an Escape.”)

Thank you for not letting us sports fans feel alone or un-American when we want to watch a sporting event even though the news is on. I just hope it’s not too long until the boys over there can come home and watch the games, too.
