Two men used a stun gun Friday to shock the owner of a Porsche sports car before throwing him out of the vehicle and speeding off in it, police said.

The robbery took place about 4 p.m. outside Brunswick Bowl on Tustin Avenue, across from the Orange Mall, Police Lt. Timm Browne said. The victim, identified only as a Newport Beach man in his 30s, was showing his customized, convertible Porsche to the suspects, who posed as a mechanic and a potential buyer.

The three men got into the car, with the owner in the passenger seat, Browne said. As they were heading down the bowling alley’s driveway, the man in the back seat pulled out an electric stun gun and applied it to the victim’s neck.

“The fight was on,” Browne said. “He (the victim) was reaching to turn the car off and grab the stun gun when they literally grabbed him and threw him up out of the convertible top.”

The suspects then sped off in the car, Browne said.

The victim suffered minor injuries.

Police described the suspects as two white males of medium build with brown hair. One was described as six feet tall, 190 pounds and in his early 30s; the other was about 5 feet, 8 inches and 165 pounds in his late 20s.

Anyone with information should call (714) 744-7403, Browne said.
