SANTA ROSA VALLEY : County to Consider Rezoning 12 Parcels
- Share via
The Board of Supervisors will consider a controversial Santa Rosa Valley rezoning request Tuesday that would bring more than 900 new residents to the area and widen an area road to handle additional traffic.
The Caston Trust properties--12 parcels totaling 332 acres--are east of Camarillo between Thousand Oaks and Moorpark. The owners want to rezone the parcels to allow for one-acre housing sites.
But the Planning Commission recommended denial after county planners said nearby roads cannot accommodate more traffic.
A vote by the supervisors was delayed in December because two members were absent and the other three wanted the county staff to study whether Santa Rosa Road and others in the area should be widened.
