Police on Tuesday asked for the public’s help in finding a man they believe is responsible for at least 20 armed robberies during the past five months.

The suspect, identified as Larry Edward Jones, 42, “likes to rob fast-food restaurants and supermarkets,” Orange Police Sgt. Bob Gustafson said.

A $100,000 arrest warrant has been issued for Jones, Gustafson said.

Most of the robberies have occurred at night, said Gustafson, who added that the robber usually forces customers to lie on the ground during the holdups.

“He’s been known to wear disguises, like hats and wigs . . . and uses handguns and sawed-off shotguns,” Gustafson said. “He is considered to be extremely dangerous.”

Jones was described as a 6-foot-1 white male, weighing about 160 pounds with brown hair and green eyes. He also has numerous tattoos on his arms, stomach and chest, including one tattoo of a turtle on his neck, police said.

Anyone with information about Jones’ whereabouts is requested to call Detective Mike Harper at (714) 744-7513.
