A 1-year-old Los Angeles boy and the baby-sitter suspected of kidnaping him from a Westlake apartment Friday remained at large, police said Tuesday.

Ernest Dickerson, 42, left his son, Darnell, in the care of Michelle Oliver, 38, who lives in the same building at in the 400 block of South Lake Street, north of MacArthur Park, said Rampart Station Detective Lt. Doc Warkentin.

“She was supposed to baby-sit for two hours, but both she and the boy disappeared,” Warkentin said. The father searched for them that afternoon and then called police. “We are looking at it as a kidnaping,” Warkentin said. “We have no reason at this time to believe the baby has been harmed.”
