The Evander Holyfield-George Foreman heavyweight fight will remain in Atlantic City on April 19 as scheduled, it was announced today.

Donald Trump, whose Trump Plaza is the live fight promoter, had said last Wednesday that because of the situation in the Persian Gulf, a war clause should be invoked and that the site fee he owed--$11 million--should be reduced. Co-promoters Bob Arum and Dan Duva then threatened to move the fight to Las Vegas and postpone it a week.

At today’s news conference, Arum and Duva, in the presence of Trump, said the site fee will remain $11 million and that the fighters’ purses will be unaffected--guarantees of $20 million for Holyfield and $12.5 million for Foreman.

Said Trump: “Let’s just say we’ve made some adjustments, and I’m very happy with these adjustments.”
