FEE--FI FO FUM

Share

Elizabeth Mehren demonstrated unbalanced reporting and puffery by allowing someone like Literary Connection president Sid Poland to blow his own horn--”We’re completely revolutionizing the entire industry”--without interviewing writers to find out if they are satisfied with the results they get for the $195 they shell out to him.

The National Writers Union, an organization of 3,000 writers in 11 cities working for the improvement of working conditions for writers through collective bargaining, evaluates agents on the basis of their performance not their promises. We have collected more than 350 reports by writers on their experiences with 175 agents, and make this information available to our members.

Shame on Mehren for dealing only with Poland and agents while neither interviewing writers nor including a responsible voice for writers like the National Writers Union in her article.
