NAPLES, Fla. — Dale Douglass, who conquered wind gusts in building a four-shot first-round lead, had some trouble with the conditions Saturday and had his lead cut to one stroke in the Senior PGA Tour’s Aetna Challenge.
Douglass had an opening-round 67 despite 45 m.p.h. winds Friday. He shot a one-under-par 71 Saturday when temperatures in the 50s seemed much colder because of the wind.
Lee Trevino made the biggest move of the day with a 68 and is one shot behind Douglass. Simon Hobday shot a 67 for a 140, where he was joined by Jimmy Powell and J.C. Snead.
