A 20-year-old Orange man drove his car around a crossing arm at a railroad intersection Sunday and was struck by an oncoming train, but survived the accident uninjured, authorities said.

The train “clipped the back of the car and gave it some damage, but no injuries,” said a California Highway Patrol dispatcher.

The driver of the car was identified as Daine Emil Erickson, 20, of Orange.

The late-afternoon collision took place on Jefferson Street south of Orangethorpe Avenue.
