Disabled Woman Missing for a Week

A 36-year-old disabled woman has been missing for a week after her wheelchair was found in a Knott’s Berry Farm parking lot in Buena Park, authorities said Wednesday.

Katrina K. Laurent of Stanton left her apartment in the 8900 block of Pacific Avenue the morning of Feb. 14 to go to a doctor’s appointment in Costa Mesa and a doll show at Anaheim Stadium. She did not show up at either.

Her roommate reported her missing Saturday, the County Sheriff’s Department said.

Laurent has season passes to Knott’s and Disneyland and visits both parks regularly. A sheriff’s spokesman said investigators have found no evidence of foul play.

Laurent, who wears leg braces from the knee down and normally uses an electric wheelchair, has cerebral palsy and epilepsy. She needs to take medication regularly.

Authorities described Laurent as white, 5 feet, 8 inches tall and 135 pounds, with blue eyes and short, curly blond hair. Sheriff’s Deputy Leo Vandor seeks information at (714) 647-7053 or (714) 647-7000.
