ORANGE : Public’s Aid Asked in Shooting Case
Police are seeking information about the shooting of a man who confronted a burglar who was trying to steal his car.
The shooting occurred Jan. 5 at 9:46 p.m. in the 3800 block of East Dorothy Lane, Police Sgt. Bob Gustafson said.
The victim, Rohery Wychgel, 25, emerged from his house to find a man trying to steal his car. The man wounded Wychgel and fled in another car, Gustafson said, and is wanted on a charge of attempted murder.
The suspect’s car was described as a General Motors two-door coupe--possibly a Monte Carlo--with a vinyl roof, shiny rims, under-inflated tires and an altered suspension. It could be raised slightly in the front, Gustafson said.
Anyone with information is asked to call Police Detective Alex Varga at (714) 744-7512.
