EL TORO : Knife-Wielding Man Robs Del Taco Outlet
A local fast-food restaurant was robbed early Friday after a man climbed through the drive-through window and threatened an employee with a knife, authorities said.
The robbery began about 3:30 a.m. when two men drove up to the drive-through window of the Del Taco at 22401 El Toro Road and demanded money, Lt. Richard J. Olson of the Sheriff’s Department said.
When an employee refused, one of the men got out of the car, climbed through the window and threatened the employee with a knife, Olson said.
The man then took an undisclosed amount of cash and punched the employee in the face before squeezing back out through the window, police said. According to Olson, the employee was knocked to the floor but did not require medical treatment.
The two men fled in their car, which was described as an older-model, gray Ford Mustang, Olson said. An investigation is continuing.
