Two men were found guilty Friday of kidnaping four San Diego State University students for purposes of robbery at gunpoint.

A San Diego Superior Court jury convicted Terry Turner, 27, and Timothy Long, 19, of robbing or attempting to rob the students and four counts of assault with a deadly weapon.

Both men could be sentenced to a maximum of life imprisonment in the kidnap-for-robbery charges. Judge William Mudd scheduled sentencing for March 29.

The students testified that they were held up by shotgun-toting robbers Nov. 28 on El Cajon Boulevard after they left a pizza restaurant.

Since none of them had any money, the gunmen forced them to withdraw $40 from an ATM bank teller machine. Later they returned to the university, and one robber and one student went from room to room in a dorm and collected $11.

Long was arrested as he left the dorm after the students illegally parked their car outside, which attracted security. Turner escaped but was later arrested at his Southeast San Diego residence.
