California IN BRIEF : SAN DIEGO : Keeper Killed by Fighting Elephants

A Wild Animal Park keeper was killed when she tried to break up a fight between two female elephants, the San Diego Zoological Society said. Pam C. Orsi, 27, suffered extensive head injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene, the society said. Orsi had been a keeper for six years, including three at New York’s Bronx Zoo, and had worked with elephants for four years, the society said.
