Dime A Dip Wins at Los Alamitos
Dime A Dip and driver Jack Parker, Jr. took advantage of a short field to win the $7,700 Filly and Mare Invitational Pace Friday night at Los Alamitos.
Doodlin was the fastest from the gate, but Parker put Dime A Dip on top before the quarter and then slowed the fractions down on the five-horse field. After a :29.3 first quarter, Dime A Dip slowed the fractions to 1:00.0 for the half and 1:29.2 before streaking down the lane to win in 1:58.0.
Doodlin sat in the pocket after turning over the lead to Dime A Dip and finished a strong second. Ja Ja Fajasm was third. Dime A Dip paid $6.60.
