2 Unions OK Tentative Contract With Producers

Share

The unions representing movie photographers and studio mechanics announced Tuesday in Los Angeles that they have reached tentative agreement on a contract that ends a conflict brewing with producers since last year.

The agreement was reached late Monday night between representatives of two film and television unions and the Alliance of Motion Picture and Television Producers. No comment from the producers alliance was available.

John Amman, assistant business agent of Local 644 of the International Photographers Union and Local 52 of the Motion Picture Studio Mechanics, both based in New York City, said the agreement is for three years and includes a 4% increase in each year. Amman said he is “quite optimistic” the union membership will approve the pact.
