Trout Are Doing Their Part to Break Ice at Big Bear Lake
The ice is melting on Big Bear Lake, and fishermen are getting a jump on the opening of marinas scheduled for this weekend.
“The ice is out and although there is two to three feet of snow around the lake, people are getting their limits,” said Lin Crawford of Lin’s Tackle Box.
Crawford said game wardens even cited a few for catching more than the allowable five trout.
“It’s shore fishing only,” Crawford added. “But people are catching a lot of fish. Most of them are 13 or 14 inches.”
