Vice President Dan Quayle will visit San Diego today to present awards to Navy officers and to be honored himself by Christian Unified Schools for his promotion of traditional family values.

Quayle and his wife, Marilyn, are scheduled to arrive in late afternoon at Miramar Naval Air Station, where he will present several achievement awards to naval aviators and sailors, including two awards for service in the Persian Gulf War.

Later, the Quayles will attend the San Diego Christian Unified Schools’ second annual Family Heritage Award Banquet at the Marriott Hotel downtown. There, the vice president will receive an award for his advocacy of traditional family values.

Quayle will spend the night in San Diego and is scheduled to depart from Miramar early Thursday morning for Orange County.
