MISSION VIEJO : Head of College to Join Group’s Board
Saddleback College’s president has been appointed a director of the American Council on Education’s Commission on Women in Higher Education.
Constance M. Carroll is to serve a three-year term on the board of the Washington group, which presents reports to Congress, the Supreme Court and other federal government agencies.
The appointment will not affect Carroll’s employment at Saddleback College, where she has been president for eight years.
“This is a highly effective commission and an important one since its business is accurate information about and fair treatment for academic women throughout the higher education community,” she said.
Carroll has served on the advisory board for Ms. magazine, been a director of the National Institute for Leadership Development and is active in other women’s groups.
