Los Angeles memorial services are planned next Sunday for Walter McCollough, bishop of the United House of Prayer for All People.

McCollough, known as “Sweet Daddy” to his three million followers, died March 21 in Washington after a series of heart ailments.

He had headed the church since 1960 when he succeeded its founder, Charles M. (Sweet Daddy) Grace. The Washington-based religious denomination preaches a gospel of faith, hope and redemption, and operates day-care centers and homes and cafeterias for the needy.
