Jurisprudence
Parish Hickman, a member of the Michigan State basketball team accused of arranging to sell cocaine to an undercover agent, was indicted by a federal grand jury.
The indictment, handed up by the grand jury Monday, charges Hickman of Detroit and Maurice Pointer of Southfield, Mich., with one count each of conspiracy to sell and possession with intent to sell cocaine.
Hickman and Pointer were arrested on the Michigan State campus April 8 after they allegedly made arrangements to sell a U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration agent 2.2 pounds of cocaine. If convicted, each could face up to 40 years in prison and a $2-million fine on each conspiracy and sales count.
