Magic Moose Wins Featured Trot

Magic Moose took over after favorites Skeet Load and Table Card burned themselves out in an early speed duel and went on to a length victory over Fames Star in Tuesday night’s featured $11,000 Invitational Trot at Los Alamitos.

Magic Moose, with Jack Parker Jr., in the sulky, moved past the early leaders entering the stretch and finished in 1:57 2/5, the fastest time of the meeting and only two fifths of a second off his 1990 track record. Fames Star followed the winner down the lane, but was unable to get past.

Magic Moose paid $11.40, $5 and $3 for his victory. Fames Star paid $5.20 and $2.40, and while Skeet Load held on for the show, returning $2.60.
