BUENA PARK : City Says Thanks to Young Muralists

Share

The young artists who created the city’s first public mural have been commended for their historic efforts with commemorative T-shirts.

Twenty-four students designed, drew and painted the 170-foot-long work, entitled “A Peak Under the Sea,” which depicts fish and other sea creatures.

Earlier this week, the City Council approved allocating $200 to the Fine Arts Commission to buy shirts for the students, who volunteered to participate in the project.

The shirts were presented to the youths, all students at Buena Park Junior High School, when the mural was unveiled earlier this week. The mural can be viewed near the pool area at Peak Park.
