Cloudy Skies Will Bring 30% Chance of Rain Saturday

A weak Pacific storm will cloud skies today and bring with it a chance of rain Saturday, according to the National Weather Service in San Diego. Skies are expected to turn clear and sunny on Sunday.

The storm is centered over San Francisco, and San Diego is expected to only be brushed by it. The chance of rain is 30%, said forecaster Dan Atkin.

Clouds will begin rolling in this afternoon, and daytime temperatures will drop into the 60s today and Saturday, Atkin said.

Temperatures at the beaches will range from 60 to 65 degrees today and 58 to 63 on Saturday. The surf is 1 to 3 feet and the water temperature is near 61 degrees.

The forecast calls for coastal areas to experience highs of 62 to 67 today, 60 to 65 Saturday. Nighttime lows of 52 to 57 are predicted. Inland temperatures will range from 67 to 73 today and 64 to 70 on Saturday, Atkin said, with nighttime temperatures ranging from 42 to 50.

In the mountains, temperatures will range from 54 to 62 degrees today and 46 to 54 on Saturday with nighttime lows of 28 to 36, Atkin said. Desert temperatures will rise to 76 to 84 today and 72 to 80 Saturday, dipping to 42 to 50 at night, he said.
