Local organizations are raising money to assist Kurdish refugees in Iraq. The funds will be sent to the United Nations, which will provide the Kurds with food, medical supplies, clothing and other necessities.
Financial donations can be made directly to UNICEF at the United Nations Building in Balboa Park, or by calling 233-3970. The fund-raising effort is coordinated in part by the San Diego Kurdistan Club and Equimedical Medical.
