ORANGE : Suspect in Custody After Bank Robbery
A Nevada man was arrested minutes after a gunman took an undisclosed amount of money from Home Federal Bank on Tuesday.
The robbery occurred about 11:45 a.m. at the bank, 1302 N. Tustin Ave. Police Sgt. Jim Hudson said a bandit entered the bank, handed a note to a teller and brandished a handgun before escaping with the money.
Bank employees reported seeing the man escape in a maroon van that headed west on Katella Avenue, Hudson said.
Police stopped a van matching the description just west of Glassell Street and arrested Patrick Lloyd Frey, 43, of Henderson, Nev., Hudson said. A gun, the note and money were found in the vehicle.
Frey was taken to Orange City Jail, where he awaited transfer to the County Jail, Hudson said.
