The state Transportation Commission has allocated $1.2 million for highway maintenance projects in Ventura County, officials said last week.

About $900,000 of the money will be used to resurface 24 on-ramps and off-ramps on the Ventura Freeway and California 126, said Caltrans spokeswoman Patricia Reid.

The 14 Ventura Freeway ramps in the repair project are at Johnson Drive, Victoria Avenue, Telephone Road, Main Street and Seaward Avenue in Ventura. The 10 ramps on California 126 are located at the junction with the Ventura Freeway and at Main Street and Victoria Avenue.

The commission at its meeting on Thursday also approved $331,000 to resurface a 1.4-mile section of California 118 between San Antonio Creek Road and Santa Ana Boulevard near Lake Casitas, Reid said.

Work on the repair projects is scheduled to begin in July and is expected to be completed by December, she said.
