BASEBALL : DAILY REPORT : DODGERS : Hershiser Hopes to Go Past 60 Friday
Orel Hershiser will pitch his fourth simulated game Friday in Philadelphia, hoping to go beyond the 60 pitches he threw Sunday.
“It’s a format I like,” Hershiser said. “I get to extend my conditioning and work on (pitches). I have to get (to 80 pitches) before I think about pitching at a big league level.”
The Dodgers have the only bullpen in the National League without a decision this season. . . . Tuesday night’s game was the first in the last six in which the Dodgers haven’t scored in the first inning. They have 29 first-inning runs this season. . . . Alfredo Griffin committed his seventh error in 19 games at shortstop.
