Oh, Those Bagels

I enjoyed Jonathan Gold’s Counter Intelligence article, “Round and Round” (March 28). It’s always great to see bagels getting their moment on center stage.

However, I was disappointed to learn that you may have missed one of the most meaningful experiences in bagels that Southern California has to offer--Western Bagels. We brought our bagels to Los Angeles 45 years ago. Unlike the heavier New York-style bagel, our special recipe produces bagels that are crispy on the outside and soft in the middle.

We have seven retail stores in the greater Los Angeles area and our bagels are available in most major supermarkets.

Thanks again for the kind words about bagels.
