Lori Johns of Corpus Christi, Tex., defeated Don Prudhomme of Granada Hills in the top-fuel final and successfully defended her title in the NHRA Mid-South Nationals at Memphis, Tenn. Johns’ time was 5.074 seconds at 270.27 m.p.h.
