Vaca Scores Decision Against Taylor
Former World Boxing Council welterweight champion Jorge Vaca of Mexico scored a unanimous 10-round decision over Quincy Taylor of Dallas on Monday night.
Vaca, who weighed 153 1/4 pounds, raised his record to 44-8 with 35 knockouts. Taylor, who weighed 153 pounds, fell to 15-3 with 12 knockouts.
Vaca received a 97-93 decision on one scorecard, while two others had it 98-92 in his favor.
There were no knockdowns in the bout, a rematch of a fight held at the Forum in October which Vaca won on a technical decision.
Vaca, 30, was ahead on points in that bout when an unintentional butt by Taylor, 27, cut Vaca on the head in the sixth round and forced a stoppage.
