VENTURA : Special Olympics to Hold 1991 Auction
Two T-shirts autographed by Los Angeles Police Chief Daryl F. Gates are among the goods to be auctioned tonight during the Ventura County Special Olympics annual dinner and auction.
The shirts bear the logo, “Help Run a Cop Out of Town.”
The free event will be held from 6 to 11 p.m. at the Poinsettia Pavilion, 3451 Foothill Road in Ventura.
Gates autographed the T-shirts during a recent speaking engagement in Ventura.
They advertise the 1991 Law Enforcement Torch Run, a special race run by law enforcement officers across the state next month to signify the opening ceremonies of the California Special Olympics Summer Games.
Other items to be auctioned include weekend getaways, dinners, sporting event tickets, artwork, jewelry, round-trip air fare for two to London, a cellular phone, a home security system and Patagonia jackets.
