Hot on going to the Hollywood Bowl? You might want to leave the driving, and the dinner, to Mr. Stox in Anaheim. The restaurant has reserved 48 seats for each of three different Saturday night programs at the Bowl. For $70 per person, the restaurant provides bus transportation and a gourmet picnic dinner, complete with wines, tables, linens, flowers. Buses leave Mr. Stox at 5:15 p.m. Seats are still available for July 13 (Gershwins Go Hollywood) and July 27 (Henry Mancini conducts). Restaurant Monique and Wine Warehouse will join to present an Italian wine dinner on Monday. Six different wines from Italy will accompany chef Guy Sockrider's five-course menu, which includes pizza with black olive pesto, baby artichoke and Swiss chard, and filet of beef with porcini mushrooms. They call it a "herring lunch," but the assortment of pickled herring is only for starters at Gustaf Anders this Saturday noon. The entree is Swedish-style veal roast with lingonberries, and there's rhubarb pie, akvavit and music by Alfon Bergstrom. The cost: $27 per person, excluding tax and gratuity. Prefer a grand dinner? On Tuesday, Gustaf Anders will present a spring dinner with Robert Mondavi reserve wines. Rosanne Ruiz, executive chef at the Robert Mondavi Wine & Food Center in Costa Mesa, and Anders chef Ulf Anders Strandberg will prepare five courses. They include smoked chicken ravioli in basil sauce; baked salmon with spinach, wild mushrooms and whipped potatoes, and roasted leg of lamb served in a Pinot Noir sauce. Wines include a 1989 reserve Chardonnay, 1989 reserve Pinot Noir and 1986 reserve Cabernet. Cost is $55 per person, excluding tax and gratuity. The restaurant is in South Coast Plaza Village. That Santa Ana landmark, the Hacienda, has long served Southwestern and Mexican specialties for lunch and brunch, and it's a favorite special occasion/wedding spot. But now it's also open for dinner from 5 to 9 p.m. on Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays. Featured menu items include chalupas Santa Fe style blue corn chicken enchiladas and stuffed sopaipillas.
