Katella High School students recently attended the fourth annual 101 Knights Leadership Conference at the United Methodist Church in Anaheim, where they learned that leadership plays a role in their everyday lives.

“It’s fantastic for students to have a day where the positive in people is stressed, not the negative,” junior Becky Gallegos said. “Some of these students realized that they had leadership abilities for the first time.”

The students rotated through six sessions that focused on topics such as communications, dressing for success and aiming high to obtain goals. Students had the opportunity to discover and bring out their leadership qualities.

“If a person can influence someone in a positive way through their actions, they have not only helped another person, they have helped themselves,” senior Mandy Kraus said.
