Santa Monica : Building Ban to End

Share

After more than three months of study, the city staff has concluded that a few clusters of early-1900s bungalows along 11th Street have a slim chance of becoming a historic district.

As a result, the City Council--and the Landmarks Commission in a separate, advisory vote--decided to let a construction moratorium in the area lapse at the end of this month.

The council vote was 6 to 1, with Councilman Kelly Olsen dissenting. The Landmarks Commission vote was 6 to 0.
