Santa Ana, the County’s Crime Capital
According to a recent article (“Clipboard: Big City Crime” May 4), Santa Ana has the highest rate of crimes against persons (9.1 per 1,000 people) of the seven largest cities in Orange County. The average of the seven largest cities is 6.3 crimes per 1,000 people. The disparity, over 140%, is a disgrace to the public safety leadership in Santa Ana.
Is the high crime rate the result of an understaffed Police Department or mismanagement of our resources?
Residents are fed up with the promises but little action from city staff.
Residents have a right to expect better crime control.
