An 18-year-old girl who survived a shooting spree that killed her mother and sister died Saturday night, a day after she was taken off life-support apparatus at her father’s request.
Tracy Teschner had been in critical condition since the shootings Tuesday in West Covina. Teschner, her sister and mother were found at home by her father, Erwin Teschner.
Police say that Tracy Teschner’s former boyfriend, Matthew Lee Walker, 18, shot the three women after lying in wait in their West Covina home.
Walker shot himself in the head Wednesday night in Venice as police closed in to arrest him.
Detectives said Walker may have waited inside the Teschner house for as long as two hours for the girls to arrive.
Detectives said he shot the girls’ mother, Evelina Teschner, as she came in the house between noon and 1 p.m. Tuesday. Then, according to West Covina police Cmdr. John Distelrath, Walker shot Tanya, 17, and Tracy as they walked into the house.
Both teens were found in their bedrooms by their father, who came home after his wife failed to show up for a doctor’s appointment the couple had made.
