Car owner Junior Johnson, crew chief Tim Brewer and driver Tommy Ellis received 12-week suspensions by NASCAR for using an engine that violated Winston Cup rules for engine displacement in Sunday’s race at Charlotte, N.C.
In addition to the suspensions, Ellis was fined $18,000 and Johnson $7,000.
