Youth Spraying Graffiti Shot in Leg
A 17-year-old, who police said is a gang member, was shot in the leg Wednesday afternoon as he was spray painting gang graffiti on the wall of a building.
Police said the victim was at the corner of Edinger Avenue and Center Street at 2:30 p.m. when a car carrying four males drove up.
Four to five shots were fired, and one hit the teen-ager in the leg, police said.
The youth, whom police did not identify because of his age, was taken to Coastal Communities Hospital in Santa Ana, where he was treated and released.
Police said they found the vehicle nearby. Police had no one in custody and an investigation is continuing.
