More sex charges were added Friday to the case against a South Bay man now accused of 268 counts of molesting 11 girls and distributing obscene matter to them.
Richard Ernest Howard, 45, pleaded not guilty to the 66 additional charges in San Diego Municipal Court.
Deputy Dist. Atty. John Williams said Howard met the girls, who are all under 11 years old, through swap meets and yard sales in the Chula Vista and National City areas.
When he was arraigned last month on the earlier charges, Howard gave his name as Bob Holder, the name he also gave police at his arrest April 27. But Williams said Howard is the defendant’s real name.
Bail remains set at $5 million. Judge Patricia Cowett set a preliminary hearing for July 12.
