John J. Jordan, 80, Notre Dame basketball coach from 1951 to 1964, died Thursday at a hospital in Oak Forest, Ill. With Jordan as coach, the Fighting Irish made their first six NCAA tournament appearances.
Jordan succeeded Ed (Moose) Krause and compiled a 199-131 record before being followed by John Dee.
