United Television Inc., Beverly Hills, named the company’s president, Evan C. Thompson, to the additional position of chief executive.

Thompson will continue to serve as president of the television division of New York-based Chris-Craft Industries Inc. and as executive vice president of Chris-Craft, which owns a majority of the outstanding shares of BHC Communications Inc., which, in turn, owns 51.6% of the outstanding common shares of United Television.
