A 19-year-old Rialto man was arrested by Fontana police Wednesday on suspicion of killing the mother of their 3-week-old child and two other young adults whose bodies were found slumped in a car in a Fontana neighborhood Tuesday night.

Macio Leon Lindsey Jr., who police said had threatened two of the victims with death, was being held without bail at the Foothill Law and Justice Center in Rancho Cucamonga.

Authorities identified the victims as Shevae Lana Robinson, 18, of Fontana; Ronald Jerome Douglas Jr., 19, of Rialto; and Lawanda Ada Moore, 17, of Fontana.

“Apparently Lindsey and Robinson had at one time been close enough in their association to be the parents of a child who is now 3 weeks old,” said Fontana Police Sgt. Terry Boess. “They apparently separated some time ago, but during that time, Robinson became associated with Douglas, causing Lindsey to be angered by the breakup.”

The victims were discovered by Fontana Officer Mike Senior, who became curious when he noticed a driver slumped over the wheel of a 1988 Mercury Topaz parked on a sparsely populated street off Baseline Avenue. Inside the car he found Douglas, who died of multiple gunshot wounds to the body, in the driver’s seat. Next to him was Robinson, who died of multiple gunshot wounds to the head. In the back seat was Moore, an Eisenhower High School student, who died of a single gunshot wound to the head.

Boess said the assailant was apparently on foot or in another vehicle when the fatal shots were fired.

Fontana detectives contacted Lindsey Wednesday morning. He agreed to accompany them to police headquarters, where he was interviewed and arrested, authorities said.

Independent of the interview, Boess said, police learned of the death threats Lindsey made against Douglas and Robinson. In addition, police had previously responded to Robinson’s residence to resolve domestic disputes between Robinson and Lindsey and to enforce a restraining order against Lindsey.
