SANTA PAULA : Calls Offering Trip Are Scam, Police Say

Share

The Santa Paula Police Department is warning residents to look out for fraudulent telephone solicitors promising free trips to Hawaii to dupe people into revealing their credit card numbers.

The solicitors usually call on weekends and introduce themselves as employees of a travel agency, police said.

Residents who receive such phone calls should not give out personal information, police said. Instead, they should try to persuade the solicitor to reveal his name and phone number and relay the information to the police at 525-4474.
