2 Banks Are Robbed Within Half an Hour
FBI agents are investigating two unrelated bank robberies--one in Fountain Valley, the other in Irvine--that occurred within 30 minutes of each other Saturday.
The first, at Wells Fargo Bank on Brookhurst Street in Fountain Valley, came at 11:20 a.m. when a man walked up to a teller, warned that he had a gun and demanded cash, Sgt. Larry Griswold said. He said the suspect, in his early 20s, escaped with an undisclosed amount of cash.
Then at 11:50 a.m. at Union Bank on MacArthur Boulevard in Irvine, a man walked up to a teller and presented a note that said “Large bills. No tricks.”
