Woman Charged With Harassment

Share

A Torrance woman accused of making repeated harassing telephone calls and visits to city and police officials was arrested last week on suspicion of violating a court order prohibiting such contact, authorities said.

Eva Joyce Olds, 68, was taken to the Lennox Sheriff’s Station and booked on charges of making harassing phone calls, disturbing the peace and falsely reporting an emergency.

“She made numerous calls on 911 claiming injuries, and they were all false,” said Sheriff’s Lt. Dennis Frandsen. “It was a complete waste of time.”

City Clerk John Bramhall got a judge to issue a restraining order against Olds earlier this year, forbidding her to approach him. City Prosecutor Jesse Rodriguez received an expanded court order last Monday prohibiting Olds from calling city officials or using the 911 line for non-emergencies. After appearing in court Monday, Olds allegedly continued to call city officials and was taken into custody Wednesday evening.
