Former Patriot running back Tony Collins, whose NFL career was shortened by drug use, drove his car into a lake in Orlando, Fla., in what police said was a suicide attempt.

Collins, 32, was treated at a hospital and released about an hour later, police said. Collins was a starting wingback for the Orlando (Fla.) Predators of the Arena Football League.
