NOTES : Dukes Open TeamTennis Season With San Antonio
The Newport Beach Dukes begin their second TeamTennis season tonight when they play host to the San Antonio Racquets at 7 at the John Wayne Tennis Club in Newport Beach. This is the first of a 14-match schedule that will continue through Aug. 4.
Manon Bollegraf, Elise Burgin, Jorge Lozano and Tim Pawsat will play for Greg Patton, back for his second year as the Dukes’ coach. Peter Doohan, Sammy Giammalva, Gretchen Magers and Anne Smith play for San Antonio.
The Dukes had a 7-7 record in their first season. San Antonio, in its seventh season, was 9-5 in 1990.
